La mano que emerge de la arena en plena Parada 4 de la Brava se encuentra allí desde febrero de 1982, cuando el artista chileno Mario Irrazábal llegó invitado por la Intendencia de Maldonado para participar del Primer Encuentro Internacional de Escultura Moderna al Aire Libre de Punta del Este.
